A fine selection of scones, jam, pancakes, traybakes and cakes were served to accompany the tea and coffee, and Christine Shearer was kept really busy on the cake stall, for those wanting to take a fine piece home.

The shaka — a simple sign meaning hello with love, I’m happy to see you, and “it’s all good” — felt like the perfect way to say thank you for the beautiful rainbow artwork the pupils so thoughtfully created for us.
