Olrig church was built in 1913 for the former United Free Church. After the amalgamation of the Church of Scotland with the United Free Church, this became the parish church. Elizabeth Beaton describes it as “sturdy, with asymmetrical gable bell-cote and faintly art-nouveau street gable”. It conformed to a standard plan for United Free churches.
The bright interior décor is the work of Oscar Paterson, Glasgow. Particularly admirable are the concave pew-ends, which show the influence of Robert Lorimer, great promoter of the Arts and Crafts movement.
Sunday morning services are normally held weekly at 10am. See the 'What's On' page for service arrangements on specific days.
Limited on street parking available adjacent to church. Main village carpark is 100m to east in centre of village. There are two steps at the front door to the church. A portable access ramp is available on request at the door, enabling access for wheelchair users.
Sound reinforcement and induction loop installed
