Rob Petersen

Rob Petersen

Parish Assistant

Rob Petersen and his family (wife, Tiff, daughter, Jaden and son, Triston) had been living in Hawaii for 10 years when they answered the Lord's calling to the far north of Scotland.  In August of 2019 they made the move to become missionaries in Caithness. Since arriving Rob has been able to share his love of the Lord with many people in the community. Walking alongside people of all different creeds and ages in life is something that is close to his heart and is spoken about in one of his favourite passages, “'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. ' The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself. ' There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31).

When it comes to his work Rob is most happy to meet people right where they are. He has a great desire to share the real aspects of life with them. Whether it is a good situation worthy of joy and giving thanks, or a very bad and painful one with lots of grief, Rob believes God cares, His grace is sufficient, and that God still loves each person and wants to help. Having experienced God's continual love and provision for himself, Rob hopes to share this with those he comes in contact with in a way that is both sensitive and appropriate. In his personal time Rob loves to be with his family and pets exploring the Highlands and beyond. He is also very much into football, playing nearly all his life, and enjoys attending matches in person when he can.
