Back in April, enthusiastic dog lover Issy Currie organised another successful and well attended  'Pet Service' in Canisbay Church, supported by Janet and other members of the congregation.  The object of the service was two-fold: to remember and give thanks for our pets and assistance dogs who give such pleasure and support to owners (not forgetting the working dogs supporting the police, customs and excise etc), and to raise funds for the local RSPCA animal rescue centre at Balmore. A grand total of £210 was raised, both through targeted donations on the day and through sale (by donation) afterwards of DVD copies of the video taken of the event.

Unfortunately the RSPCA closed the Balmore Centre before the donation could be made, therefore it was recently decided to split the donation between the Cats Protection League (Caithness) and Riding For The Disabled (Halkirk).  They each received £105.
