What a gloriously sunny Caithness spring day to celebrate the resurrection of the risen Lord!
A key feature of our Easter Service today, led by Rev Janet, was a large cross, to which members of the congregation were invited to attach daffodils in memory of a loved one, or as a prayer token for someone close to them in need. We are deeply indebted to Henry Gunn for making the cross.
Daffodils have long been associated with rebirth and new beginnings as they bloom in spring. It has even been said that daffodils first bloomed at the time of the Last Supper to bring comfort to Christ, and many in the UK call the daffodil a Lent or Lenten Lily.
After the service we were treated to an excellent soup and sandwich lunch in the church hall. Thank you ladies!
