Earlier this year, the churches of Dunnet and Canisbay were privileged to receive a special visitor for their regular Sunday Services. On Sunday 30 July, King Charles III and his party were welcomed into Dunnet Church. His attendance was not publicised in advance as he wished it to be a personal visit, however several well wishers gathered outside to give their welcome following the service.
The following week, Sunday 6 August, the King attended a well supported service at Canisbay Church, which was made extra special by performances by the Melvich Gaelic Choir and Mod Gold medal winner Joy Dunlop. Following the service King Charles planted a tree in the grounds of the church hall to commemorate his coronation.
